March 13th on Radio Green Earth
“50 Years of Pine Jog Environmental Center”
On our Saturday, March 13th broadcast, Radio Green Earth will celebrate fifty years of success at the Pine Jog Environmental Education Center. Often, we think about the environmental movement as a relatively new effort that is just taking hold across our country, but in reality, the effort in South Florida to educate people about conservation has been going on now for half a century at the Pine Jog Environmental Education Center in West Palm Beach.

Join Missy and Jim as they tour the 155-acre facility that houses a college research lab, nature walks and learning opportunities for students of all ages, as well as the first LEED gold certified elementary school and study facility. Pine Jog has become a model for schools and institutions across the country that seek a 21st century environmental curriculum, educational style, and sustainable architecture and engineering design. Pine Jog not only has 50 years of success in environmental education, but is the future in environmental education happening right now in the Sunshine State.
Don’t miss this broadcast to get a tour of this wonderful facility from Susan Toth, the director of education at Pine Jog, and Glenn Thomas, the director of Florida Atlantic University Schools. You will also hear from other faculty, students and school officials about the history of this unique educational experience called Pine Jog.
Please join us for an hour of environmental news, these feature stories, our green tip-of-the-week, and a look at upcoming environmental and green events. Saturday 5-6 pm on WXEL 90.7 FM, live at www.radiogreenearth.org, and also on iTunes!
